I’m all for tools that help to arrange, organize and save me time! Well today I came across another one (that makes 2 that I now have active in outlook!) The one that I’ve had for a while is Xobni and I like that one for searching my contacts and finding out who else might be interesting to include in the e-mails.
The new one (to me at least!) is ClearContext, which helps categorize, manage and control my inbox, calendar and tasks list in a simple yet effective way. I have over 50 different folders in my inbox so as you can probably imagine it is a bit slow finding and filing them with Outlook as it is normally…. This tool is great, it remembers where you usually file things. It also has an added bonus of being able to export contacts from ANY folder (and sub folders) to create distribution lists. Now for me that is ingenious as I have a lot of my Girl Geek Dinners organizers in seperate folders… so it now means I can extract my organizers… granted I will need to filter out some of those randoms caught in the crossfire but that shouldn’t be too difficult to do.
Anyway, if you have a very busy inbox it may just be worth a look at this tool. So far I’ve not found any major bugs in it but on occasion it does run slow. However it is in beta so I’m sure they will improve that.
Want to see what I’m on about…. the video below is pretty good at explaining it all!
